The Origami print is inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding, creating representations of certain beings or objects through the geometric folds of a single sheet of paper, without cutting or gluing it. "Ori" means "to fold," and "kami" means "paper." According to Japanese culture, anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes (tsuru, "crane") will have a wish granted. This belief was popularized by the story of #SadakoSasaki, a victim of the #atombomb during the war in Hiroshima, Japan. She was just a 12-year-old girl who left a legacy of hope—and that is what we want to represent with this print: hope in difficult times.
